Dana Hatalsky

Visual Art Instructor

Dana Hatalsky has been producing art for most of her life. She attended both the Pittsburgh Middle and High School for the Creative and Performing Arts (C.A.P.A.), graduating in 1996. She later attended Maryland Institute College of Art for two years before returning to Pittsburgh in 2001.

Dana enjoys working in an array of mediums, combining them in traditional and nontraditional forms. She is greatly influenced by her faith and the Divine design she sees in the natural world around her. She focuses on shapes, color, texture, and relationships that occur in nature, finding ways to mimic, contrast, and experiment with what is provided. She practices and teaches responsible foraging, recycling, and repurposing as much as possible. Dana has taught and participated in workshops and classes instructing children in nature art and mixed media. She loves to expand and share her knowledge of a variety of materials and enjoys finding new and multiple connections in the natural world around us. Through her process, Dana looks to inspire children and adults to lead with curiosity, make connections, and grow in their creativity.
