We are a collection of teachers who are passionate about helping students realize their full potential. Our instruction goes beyond just lessons. We care about seeing every student aspire to something great, whether beginner or expert. So, we've built a program that uses all of our real-world experience and connections to give the next generation a pipeline to success.
OUR
SCHOOL
OUR
STORY
Pittsburgh School of the Arts began in 2015 when Kate Griffin, who had been teaching piano since age 12, hired a few additional instructors to teach out of her home. It wasn't long before the demand outgrew the limitations of teaching at home. In 2021, Pittsburgh School of the Arts moved into a two-story commercial facility on Route 8, in partnership with Sunset Place Recording Studio, owned by Destin LeCornu, and Speech, Music & Wellness, owned by Angela Farster. Together, they have created an environment where music, art, and education thrive.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Our world-class instructors offer private lessons in a wide range of instruments and subjects. Our instructors are passionate about helping individuals of all ages and skill levels develop in their personal goals. We seek to create a fun, yet disciplined environment that caters to each student's unique learning style. Exploratory lessons are also available. Students may switch instruments at any time or explore more than one at once. Virtual and at-home lessons are available by request.
CLASSES
We also offer a full selection of classes for all ages and skill levels, with an emphasis on fun, friendly exploration. We begin with our Early Childhood Program, which is the perfect introduction to music, art, and early life skills for ages 0-8. For older students and adults, we offer classes taught by creative professionals in a variety of subjects, including visual art, graphic design, photography, creative writing, and musical theater.
AND MORE
Our students have the opportunity to participate in our summer camps, bi-annual recitals, National Music Festival exams, and many more seasonal events and opportunities.
